From an early age, he developed a profound love for sports, channeling his energy into karate. Under the tutelage of Master Stephen Chang, he achieved the prestigious rank of black belt first dan. This accomplishment marked the beginning of a lifelong commitment to fitness and discipline. Even today, Professor Kakoma continues to train rigorously, frequenting the gym almost daily to maintain his physical prowess.

His adventurous spirit extends beyond the dojo. An avid hiker and mountain climber, Professor Kakoma has conquered some of the world’s most challenging peaks. His expeditions include the ascent of Mount Tsurugi in Japan, the formidable Mount Flagtop in Alaska, and the scenic Grouse Mountain in Vancouver. These experiences have deepened his appreciation for nature’s majesty and fueled his desire for new challenges. Although he has yet to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, it remains a goal on his adventurous horizon.
